Xiamen Side Chair

The seats at the cafe in Xiamen looked just like you might expect in non-touristy China: made of bamboo, with striking craftsmanship and a lovely shape, and a strong cane seat.

The chairs had such a sweet spirit about them that I had to reproduce them in our Xiamen Side Chair. It trades authentic bamboo for estate-grown mahogany carved to mimic bamboo, and it’s finished in a warm off-white.
